Events for August 2024

The Pensacola Museum of Art’s Art Academy for Autism is an arts education initiative designed for children and adults on the spectrum. The program focuses on nurturing artistic development and abstract thinking skills within a group environment. This is a free program and has limited availability. At the end of the semester, classes have an art exhibition for parents and friends.

Classes resume in January. Registration required through the museum.

Ages 5-9 years: 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturdays

Ages 10-13 years: 1:30 to 3 p.m. Saturdays

Adults (ages 14 and up): 4 to 5:30 p.m. Fridays

Sensory-friendly haircut event at VolumeOne salon. This is a private event for children with autism ages 12 and under. Appointments are limited, so be sure to call and reserve your spot. Call (850) 434-5409. Haircuts are $25.
