Kids for Camp application period begins Feb. 21

Greater Pensacola area – Autism Pensacola’s Kids for Camp 2017 application period is set for February 21-March 14. Applications will be available beginning Feb. 21 in the API office and online at www.autismpensacola.org.

Kids for Camp is a summer learning lab that serves children, teens, and young adults on the autism spectrum, ages 2-25. It is a data-driven program using best-practice techniques to contribute to both the skill acquisition of the individuals with autism and the continuing education of the teachers, support staff, and college students who work with those with autism. API is committed to continuously improving the camp experience, thus remaining a model of quality and integrity for the community.

Dates for Camp are Wednesday, June 14 to Thursday, July 20. No camp on Fridays. We will have camp on July 5th and July 6th. Camp is 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. 

To apply for camp:

  • Membership in API required (https://autismpensacola.org/get-involved/)
  • $25 non-refundable application fee – You may pay online or with a check
  • Application form filled out completely
  • Verification of autism diagnosis (new campers only)
  • IEP, IFSP, or similar documentation
  • Financial aid documentation (if applicable)

All applications must be complete.  Applications submitted without all required paperwork will not be considered for acceptance.

To create this high-quality program, API partners with many agencies in our area including the Autism Center of The Studer Family Children’s Hospital at Sacred Heart, Escambia County School District, Santa Rosa County School District, the University of West Florida, and the FSU Center for Autism and Related Disabilities.
