At Autism Pensacola, we believe that in order to create an Autism Friendly community, we must find organizations who are doing “the right thing.” And we are thrilled to increase our partnership with one of these high-quality organizations, the University of West Florida’s Center for Behavior Analysis. The Center for Behavior Analysis is supporting our summer learning lab, Kids for Camp, by providing training to our camp staff in 2019.
The Center for Behavior Analysis is a leading resource for individuals interested in Applied Behavior Analysis — featuring complete online curriculum, undergraduate and graduate level degree offerings, and continuing education courses. The Essentials of ABA course will be offered to all camp staff this summer, at no cost to our staff!
The class meets the 40-hour curriculum prerequisite for the Registered Behavior Technician exam, as well as being the first course in the behavioral health elective sequence at UWF. Not only will this training make Kids for Camp an even better program, it will also increase the knowledge base of those educators returning to the classroom in the fall.
Kids for Camp is made possible through a partnership with Autism Pensacola, Inc., the Autism Center of The Studer Family Children’s Hospital at Sacred Heart, the Escambia County School District, Capstone Adaptive Learning & Therapy Centers, Inc., UWF’s Center for Behavior Analysis, and the generous people of the greater Pensacola area. Autism Pensacola is an equal opportunity employer.
