Lead teachers awarded classroom grants

One of the ways Autism Pensacola supports its leadership staff from Kids for Camp all year long is through our Fall Grant Opportunity. This is our third year to offer grants to lead teachers who worked at our summer learning lab. The awards are in an effort to support and add value to a school for the 2017-18 school year.

Each of these projects are incredible and are truly going to add value to each classroom. By enhancing the teachers’ classrooms, we increase our reach into the community. We are proud to partner with educators from Escambia County School District and Okaloosa County School District.

This year’s grant recipients are:

Peggy Woy, Capstone Academy Pensacola, VB-MAPP Level 1 Materials Kit

Lisa Eubanks, Bellview Elementary, S.T.E.M. Fun for Everyone

Christa Bass, Silver Sands School, Sensory Learning Environments

To be considered for a lead teacher position at camp, professionals must demonstrate excellence in best-practice techniques for working with individuals with autism, and these educators are certainly no exception.

Autism Pensacola’s Kids for Camp is a data-driven program that uses best-practice techniques, specifically Applied Behavior Analysis, to contribute to both the skill acquisition of the individuals with autism and the continuing education of the teachers, support staff, and college students who work with those with autism. Autism Pensacola is committed to continuously improving the camp experience, thus remaining a model of quality and integrity to the community.
